Instructions for Oral and Poster Presentations

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations will be allotted 20 minutes including discussion and change of speakers, except for the two keynote lectures (40 minutes with discussion). Speakers are requested to finish the presentation and discussion within 19 minutes so that the rest of the allotted time can be used for the speaker change. As a typical time allocation, 15 minutes for the presentation and 4 minutes for the discussion is recommended.
An LCD projector and pointer device will be equipped in each room. The optimum resolution of the projector will be XGA (1024×768 pixel). The projector has only a usual analog mini D-sub 15 pin connector. Speakers should bring an adapter for the interface conversion if necessary.
As a general rule, speakers are asked to bring their own laptop for their presentation. If one is not able to bring a laptop, a "house" PC (Windows VISTA, Office 2007) will be available in each room where speakers are invited to upload their files well in advance.
A monitor, keyboard, and mouse will be set on the speaker's podium, which will have a remote connection to the speaker's laptop. Speakers are asked to connect their laptop to the remote system at a PC operation desk located near the speaker's podium so as not to be annoyed by cable entanglement. A screen-saver or power saving function should be turned off. The operation system requirements for the remote system is Windows 2000 or higher/Mac OS X v10.1.2 or higher. Speakers must bring backup data of the presentation slides stored in a USB thumb drive.
All the speakers are recommended to check if their presentation slides are properly projected on a screen before the start of their session.

Poster Presentations

Poster panels and tacks will be provided. Panels have a width of 90 cm and a height of 180 cm. Poster numbers (P[day of the session]-[sequential numbers], e.g., P24-15, P25-112) are designated in the scientific program. Only the sequential numbers will be shown on the top of each poster panel.
Posters should be put on at any time between 15:00 on 23 May (Sun) and 18:50 on 24 May (Mon) for Poster Session 1, and between 8:40 and 18:50 on 25 May (Tue) for Poster Session 2. Right after the poster sessions, the posters must be removed. The display and removal of the posters will be done by authors. Posters left on panels after each session will be discarded.
Poster sessions will be held at the connecting corridor to the Westin Hotel on the following schedule.

    Session 1: 19:00-20:40 on 24 May (Mon)
    Session 2: 19:00-20:40 on 25 May (Tue)

During these sessions, presenters are requested to be present at their posters.

Special Issue of Adsorption (deadline: May 15, 2010)

All contributions to be presented at FOA10, either as oral papers or as posters, are eligible for publication on the FOA10 special issue of Adsorption, Journal of the International Adsorption Society. If you wish to submit a manuscript, you will have to link to the home page of the journal, www.editorialmanager.com/adso/, and check the instructions for authors there. Manuscripts have to be prepared following those instructions and have to be submitted electronically as explained there. There is no restriction about the maximum number of pages. Manuscripts will be subject to the usual peer-review process of the journal, and the decision about publication will comply with the usual quality standards of Adsorption.
When you submit your manuscript, log in to the system as "Author" and select "Special Issue for FOA10" as an article type. Also, in the "Comment" box in the fifth-step page of the submission website, you will have to specify that: "This manuscript is submitted for publication on the FOA10 special issue of Adsorption, in connection with the Abstract #.... presented at FOA10". The number that you have to indicate is the number associated to your abstract and used in all communications between you and the FOA10 Secretariat. Also, please specify the category that you had chosen first, upon abstract submission, among seven of them shown below:

- Adsorption on MOFs & Flexible Porous Body
- Adsorption Equilibria, Kinetics and Dynamics
- Molecular Modeling in Adsorption
- Adsorbent / membrane Materials
- Adsorption Processes
- Developments in Adsorption Technology
- Bio, Energy and Environmental Application

The title of the manuscript and the author list might be different from the one of the FOA10 abstract, but the connection between the manuscript and the abstract must be clear.
Deadline for submission of the manuscripts is May 15th, 2010. Please, note that it will not be possible to consider for the FOA10 special issue of adsorption if manuscripts are received later than the deadline.
